Here's the scoop

Today is Friday,November 15,2013 and the weather is getting cold and hot. We have been working hard in math. We learned new Divisibility rules. Divisibility is when you have a set of numbers and you have to figure out which one of those numbers are comparible with that number. We have also learned to find the Greatest Common Factor. In order to find the (GCF) you must find all the multiples of the number. Number of the day is 33. We take a number and we have to figure out all of it's factors. Mrs.Binge's 6th grade class is selling snack passes for $1.00. The money they raise goes to growing strong and habitat for humanity. Congratulations to the following students who made the Durfee Basketball team;Tyler,Kaderius,Jacobe,Jahmel,Kamilan,and Trelyn. Their next game is at the DISC 3:45. Our next States and Capitals test is Wednesday, November 20,2013. I am currently studying to take the test. I am sure I will do awful. There is a song on YouTube that we have been listening to help us on our States. I really like that song. We have also been studying lots of Vocabulary words. Each week we make flash cards, work on sentences and graphic organizers. Our holiday song is Jingle Bell Rock and We Will Jingle. We are reading Loser the main character is Donald Zinkoff. I like this book because Zinkoff is full of excitement.

Shiloh Book Report

Today is Thursday,October 24,2013. We have just completed our second novel,Shiloh. The protagonist  in the book is Marty Preston. A protagonist is the hero\good guy in the book. The antagonist is the villain/bad guy in the book. The main conflict in the story is when Marty had to argue with his dad about how Judd Travers abuses his dogs and how will he treat Shiloh. The resoulution of Shiloh was when Marty was working for Judd Travers to have Shiloh. My favorite part of the book was when Marty lied to Dara Lynn about the snake on the hill and she went crazy. My least favorite part of Shiloh was when Shiloh got attacked by the German Shepard at night. If I could be any one of the characters in the book I would be Marty because he is always truthful and nice anytime. I wouldn't recommend  this book to another student because when they are done reading they might be sad.LIKE US ON FACEBOOK!!!!!!!

HERE'S THE SCOOP FROM ROOM 12

Today is October 4,2013. It has been an awesome week. I didn't pass on my STATES TEST. I will continue working on my States.The one thing I find difficult when learning about States is their position on the map. In math we have been working on Place Value. I think Place Value is easy.We worked on iTunes U with Ms.Ellis in Math. I really did it. The most interesting thing working with iTunes U is you get to learn more.We started a new novel called Shiloh. It is about a boy named Marty and he met a dog that he named Shiloh but,the dog belongs to the worst owner you could think of…Judd Travers,Marty has to think what is he going to do with Shiloh. The one thing I like so far about the novel is that it is so exciting. The one thing I don't like is when Judd said "I'm gonna kick the day lights out of him if he runs away again." Marty's traits is great person,good guy,and a wingman. October is BREAST CANCER AWRENESS month. Three important facts about it are 1.Women and Men die off of it. 2.It is like a warning to people. 3.You should really see your doctor if it happens. Grades come out in a couple of weeks I'm sure I will do good I really hope. :)

Here's the Scoop from Room 12

Today is another HOT day in room 12.It's Wednesday,September 11,2013.The temperature says it is 95 Fahrenheit right now.The hardest part about being in school when it's hot is that I'm melting like a ice cube.This week we will be taking two district tests in Reading and Math.I think I did a great job on the test in fact I think I got a 100%.We have been Reading Maniac Magee.The best part of the book so far is when maniac met Grayson and they became friends,I really didn't like it when they said after five days Grayson was dead.We have been working on plot,character and setting while reading maniac Magee.Plot is the main events that been happening in the story.Character is the main people in the story.Setting is the main place the story has been taking place.We will be taking a States Test on September 25th.I am sure I will Ace this test it will be a piece of cake.Please follow us on Facebook-Walker's 5th grade wonders!!!!!
