Loser Book Review

We just completed our third novel. Loser is a book by Award Winner Jerry Spinelli. The main character is Donald Zinkoff. One word to describe Zinkoff is Thankful. The reason I think this word describes him is because every time someone gives him something he never gets mad. The setting of the story is Zinkoff's house, 9th Willow Street, alleys and school. Donald Zinkoff hates waiting for any-thing ever since he was a little kid. Zinkoff loves the stars his mom gives him when he does a good deed he gets a star from his mom. Gary Hobins and the other kids on Field Day called Zinkoff a loser because they lost and Zinkoff didn't run fast enough. Claudia ran away from home and Zinkoff went to the alley to find her. Zinkoff was in the bed for 13 hours because he looked for Claudia. The best part of the book was when Bonce had no choice but to choose Zinkoff to be on his football team and the game began. If I could change any situation of the book, I would have changed when Hector Binns and Zinkoff's friendship was over because that part was really sad. Zinkoff had many character traits during this novel. One character trait he had was cool because he never gives up on anything. Another Zinkoff character trait during the story was nice cause he did not throw a fit with the fourth grader when he took his giraffe hat. I did like how this novel ended because Zinkoff was a hero for his bravery for looking for Claudia.
